Bicycle Fun

Anton brought around the finished product on Saturday evening which was very exciting for me.  Thank you Anton!  I just had to give it a ride the following day.  It was fun.  I also decided to purchase this cool brass bell from manufactum.com which I look forward to adding.  I figure that it's got old school cool factor to match Grandpa's bicycle.  The next accessories will be front and rear lamps though I really have to start thinking about Helen's bicycle!

Bicycle Restoration

The latest progress photo of Grandpa's bicycle.  Here it is hanging out in Anton's garage with the restoration nearly complete.  I especially love the newly finished bright blue body and retro yellow tyres. Very exciting! I'm looking forward to leisurely rides along the river although I'll have to start thinking about buying Helen a bike.  She might get a little jealous otherwise...

Painting Begins

Anton sent me this progress photo today of the body and front forks from Grandpa's bicycle.  He has just sprayed on the primer coat.  Once finished it will be très chic.

Bicycle Progress

Anton sent me this photo yesterday, he has dismantled my grandpa's bicycle and is in the process of cleaning it up.  The BSA detail within the front cog is one of my favourite elements.  It is looking pretty shiny compared with the last time I looked at it!

Grandpa's Bicycle

My dad came over for dinner last night and brought grandpa's bicycle to give to me.  It had been stored in his garage for a while now, disused and in need of restoration.  I want to use it to ride to work next year, it is only a short ride and is perfect for a bicycle without gears.  Anton has offered to help me restore it and I can't wait to get started.
