Citroën on the Champs-Elysées

Finding ourselves on the Champs-Elysées in front of the Citroën showroom was classic.  I took a photo of Helen in front of her beloved C4, although its design has moved on a bit from her sexy little car.  The centerpiece of rotating cars looks very cool and the ultra modern interior really does draw you in from the street.  I also like the matt black finish on the DS3...

I found the following images while looking up some info on the design.  Apparently André Citroën displayed his first car there in 1919.  It would have loved to visit the showroom then too, so chic!

Time To Go

One final post about my beloved Val.  She sold just last week and is already being given a facelift by the new owner.  Thankfully he is in the business of restoring Valiants and was keen to take on my neglected beauty.  I do regret letting her go in some respects.  Fact is though that I don't have the time to fuss over a car, nor the space.  A 1967 VC Valiant, my first car thanks to help from my Dad.

My Val

Currently searching for parts...  These are some more photos (taken a few years back) which really appeal to me.  I like the grit factor.

Valiant 1967

Photos from a set of 18 prints that I prepared a couple of years ago.  A conversation with Anton yesterday reminded me of the fact that I still hadn't made a decisive move to sell my 1967 Chrysler Valiant.  I bought the 'Val' at the age of seventeen and she has been one of my most prized possessions ever since.  While there are imperfections she has aged gracefully in my opinion.  One aspect which impressed my friends is that I could have easily dropped in a V8 with room to spare.  No need for oversized engines for me though, I prefer the original tempered purr.  Unfortunately, my current lifestyle does not allow me to give her the attention she needs.  Hence my decision to sell.  I hope the next owner will love her as much as I have.

Sports Car

While running around in preparation for our afternoon tea Helen and I happened to come across a pristinely maintained Ford GT. To my amazement, before I had even a chance to pull out my camera, Helen had already made a beeline for it and was happily snapping away. I was suitably impressed.  Somebody has worked tirelessly here.
