Apple and Cinnamon Cake

Happy Birthday Helen!  Well it's obvious that in our home Helen is the pâtissier.  However this year I decided to try my hand at baking for her birthday.  So far as I recall this is the first cake I've ever made ...and thankfully it was a success!
