Never before had I fathomed just how scorched our continent is until my flight from Brisbane to Perth yesterday. So beautiful... and dangerous with nowhere to hide from the hot sun. I think I've just changed my mind about attempting to drive it. Back in Subiaco now after having just been to Fremantle. It's nice to get out in the beautiful sunny weather after the past month of rainy weather in Brisbane.
Wow, it looks amazing! I can't believe both times I flew across in the evening and never saw that landscape for myself! Meanwhile, the weather back here in Bris couldn't be more different...
ReplyDeleteI too was facinated by the topography below, the salt pans, sand dunes, colours. Stunning. No wonder exploration by the early Europeans was such danger. Crossing by horse or camel? Wow!
