Sea Change

I know it must look like all we've been doing is indulging in long lunches but it is well and truly birthday season... and this one by the sea would be mine!  We have escaped our city apartment for a blue and white beach house and were lucky to have a group of friends join us to celebrate my birthday over the weekend.  The sun decided to stay away but happily so did the rain.  The overcast sky made for chilly weather hence the shawls on the chairs indeed came to good use.  We cheated by indulging in catering and a chef to make things a bit less stressful... except I did bake the pink velvet birthday cake!  It was so wonderful to have shared this weekend with so many beautiful friends... and of course to have shared it with James who made everything even lovelier...

  8. Hi Helen,

A very belated birthday! You do things in style! Love the tablecloth and the cutlery. It all looks (as I've often thought of your occasions) just so civilized. Wonder where you'll be for the next one?

  9. You are very kind Vicki but it really is as civilized as two Bunnings trestle tables with a couple of matching table cloths thrown over can be!

  10. We really enjoyed that wonderful lunch, thank you once again for inviting us! Sorry we didn't get a change to go out after that, but next time you're at the Coast please don't hesitate to call me and we'll have coffee out or have you over for lunch or dinner or anything like that... Looking forward to catching up again.
    Lots of love,
    Anca

  11. Hi Anca, we were so glad you could both make it! It was a shame about the weather, otherwise it would have been much warmer and possibly we would have decided to go out. We had a number of people stay so we ended up grazing and having plenty of wine into the evening. We would love to visit you for dinner! Speak soon xxo
